Hanson, your father can pay you whatever he likes according to what he can afford from his assets.
Now if you are speaking of the GOVERNMENT paying you to give care to keep your dad out of long term care, I would call your local council on aging and ask them what pointers they can give you about programs in your area.
If your Dad is currently on Medicaid do reach out to them to find out the rules for your state about payment to family caregivers.

Just a PS and a "word to the wise". We on Forum often get notes from folks who gave up home and job, sometimes even families, to go to care for a senior and to get the minimum stipends the government pays for long term 24/7 care. They are not enough to live on and save and the sad fact is that the senior often eventually needs to go into LTC where they can avail themselves of several strong people on several shifts a day helping to care for them. At that point the caregiver is left homeless, jobless and without a job history. We have ended up sending them to shelters and telling them to apply for WELL PAID caregiving jobs, save money, move into a room for rent and work their way back into society if they are able.
This often does not work out well for the caregiver, who moves from being loyal and loving son to a caregiver that the care-ee comes to hate for his instructions and restrictions. This usually doesn't work in my experience on this forum over the last 5 years.
I wish you the best of luck.
