Dad is very Lucid at times, but comes up with crazy stories. He is very stubborn and strong willed. I find myself weepy at times after my visit as it is very difficult to see him like this. Is this normal? Thank you for your comments. PS Hospice has been great!!
Age is a factor, but truth is, the longer you live the better the chance you will experience some level of forgetfulness--on towards full blown dementia. Or not. It's really a crap shoot.
It's normal, it's just not fair or fun.
Funny you say that , my dad told stories now my mom does, I really didn't see that as a sign of dementia. But it is. I wish I new that with my dad.
Also some have dreams and the dreams feel so real to them, they think it's real.
And yes going in and out of lucidity is also normal.
So sorry, you have had so many losses in your life.
