My 75-year-old father suffered a stroke but has never been a good sleeper. He is paralyzed on his left side but it is unreal what he can do in his sleep. He wears a condom catheter and we had to resort to using a mitt at night to stop him from pulling his catheter off. However, I saw him on camera last night ripping the glove off with his teeth. He is getting melatonin 3 mg at night and gabapentin for nerve pain both morning and night. We tried some CBD gummies but that doesn't seem to be doing the trick either. I have tried something like an Icy Hot and magnesium spray on his legs to help with this but nothing has worked. Does anyone have any suggestions.
If your dad is using Gabapentin for nerve pain from neuropathy, Cymbalta antidepressant is a wonderful use for such pain. It was the only effective relief my mother had from decades of leg pain and numbness from neuropathy. Penetrex cream also helped her before Cymbalta. Its available on Amazon. Do speak to dad's doctor about Cymbalta or other possible meds to help him.
Good luck.
