Wife had stroke. 1st hospitals sent her home no treatment. 2nd hospital called her complete paralysis conversion disorder. 3rd forced rehab tried to keep her. Terrible care, took her home.
Hosptials here are a nightmare
No integrity.
How do we get it back?
John
I agree with you that INSURANCE has laid down SO many impossible rules and budgets to follow that the hospitals hands are tied as to how much they can do for us. I find the medical industry is REALLY negligent when it comes to geriatric care, that's for sure. And that's a sad state of affairs for all of us.
I'm really sorry you are going through such a nightmare & hope that you can get some competent medical care and advice SOON! Best of luck
This also happened to myself no competent md for PD
Oombudsman is a sad joke here.
I live in the metro area of MN. I have gotten extremely good to excellent care for the past several decades. But my mother was a very astute RN for 50 years and taught me how to be my own best advocate. Since you asked how to get back the quality and integrity? I will tell you (and everyone on this site) that "Medicare for all" will be more like your recent experiences and probably worse. I just spoke to someone who had a Medicare-paid colonoscopy and they received the bill 2 years later. That also probably means the doctors/hospitals have not been paid yet, either. And underpaid for their services. Is it any wonder we are short doctors in the U.S. by about 25,000? And that rural hospitals are closing in alarming numbers?
Again, so sorry for your pain and suffering. Praying you get the right care by the best people!
