I have had two different drivers ask me if I was paying by medicare. But I don't find anything that says medicare will pay for taxi. Only ambulance in non emergency situation.

I agree that it would depend on the Medicare supplement plan. As mentioned, if the cab drivers have been paid by Medicaid (it's terrific that some states allow this - I wish that they all did) then you should check with them. This only works, of course, if Medicaid is the health plan.
Take care,

With most BCN (Blue Care Network) Advantage HMO-POS or HMO plans, you can get round-trip transportation for up to 36 medical appointments per year at no extra cost. So it depends on your Advantage Plan.

Maybe the cab drivers are really asking about Medicaid. In AZ, the ACCSS(?) program (for lower-income folks) will pay for rides to and from doctors. Also, when I worked for AZ CPS whenever one of the wards of the state had to go to a doctor's appointment and I could not give them a ride, the state would pick up the cab fare.

Ferris, that is nice to know. Nephew is on Medicaid for his insurance. Nice to know I have options.

Some towns have senior centers with van service to and from doctors' visits for a nominal fee. Check into that.
