Find Care & Housing
Okay, I am sorry. I had to laugh when I say the title. The mental pictures were just too tempting. Now that I had my laugh, with all due seriousness, the one who is upset at the concept in you. They have no ability to remember who is alive or dead. Or if the car was parked in the garage or on the street. It's still the same matter: Let them phone, make it easy for them to get through their day without a trigger moment. You can use a non working phone or dial the number for them, using your cell number for leaving a message, have them write a letter or send a card, but learn to pick your battles, and this my friend, is not one to pick.
I'm not trying to pick on you - ALZ/Dementia is a tough one. My Dad thinks he's outlived all his family, but forgets how old passed relatives really were. He's got ten more years to do this, but I don't remind him of his Aunt passing at 100. Not worth the conversation or dwelling on death.
Hang in there and best of luck to you.
