I took dad to the doctor last week to discuss recent declines I've been noticing and he recommended a book called The 36-Hour Day. Wow! The book is hefty, and probably best used as a reference. The authors do an excellent job of describing how dementia patients experience the world, which is very helpful to those of us caring for a loved one. They also offer great advice for dealing with everyday life, managing in the decline, preparing for what's next, and everything else that keeps us caregivers awake at night.
