Just two days ago I found out, what my other family members already knew, that my dad (61 y/o) thinks that he is being stalked by neighbors (maybe others, I'm not sure) and it's serious to the point that he thinks my sister and brother-in-law are involved somehow. We are pretty concerned and looking for resources to find out what to do. My mom (married 40 years) has known for a long time. My dad reached out to my sister to talk to her a few times about this. She thinks he was talking to her just in order to get my brother-in-law (police officer) involved, either because he wants info on how people stalk or because he actually wants help from a professional person he respects. I've seen that it might early stages of dementia. Maybe not. What I'm looking for is how do I proceed? I want to respect him and not push, but I want there to be a sense of urgency in getting him help.

He should be evaluated by his physician. And yes, it could be a symptom of dementia.
