Find Care & Housing
????!!!

Where is your friend living now, why the need to move, and what formal support structures does she have?

It's lovely that you're researching this on her behalf, but does she not have a case worker or family who are legally responsible for assisting her?

Her mom is her sole caretaker and a recent diagnosis of cancer has placed her own health in jeopardy. My friend's daughter needs 24/7 care to eat, bath, and go to the bathroom. She is not mentally handicapped and needs social activity. I'm trying to research what facilities, it could be a senior facility, are available out there that would accept and care for a resident in her condition. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be most appreciative.

These people look promising! I quote: "CP of NYS is a broad-based, multi-service organization encompassing 24 Affiliates and 18,000 employees providing services and programs for more than 100,000 individuals with cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities, as well as resources for families." http://www.cpofnys.org

I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's and her mother's worries, and hope you're able to track down some really good information for them. Please let us know how you're all getting on, best of luck.
