I have been 24/7 full time caregiver of 91 year old dad since October and applied for home health aide with dept of aging in December. One of the case management agencies in Chicago called me yesterday at last and wanted to "do home assessment but because of covid will do everything on the phone". He wanted me to "take picture of my dad's documents and send to his phone". I said why not face to face interview in your office and why can't I send it via email - he said its covid and my email is complicated. He wants the ff documents
1. state id
2. Medicare id ( dad is on Medicare b and Medicaid)
3. bank statement
4. list of meds
I don't know if this is normal. I think after home assessment I can apply for home health agencies to help me with my father.
Thanks for listening
SCAM city.
Really, the IDs and list of meds can be scanned on one page and then the statement would be separate. Thats 2 email attachments. Its usually requested email or fax. Do you have AOL because that is the only email I know I have had problems with.
It does sound sketchy. Never send financial information to a private phone..NEVER.
An official email only.
Like others have said. Call the agency directly.
