62 yr old, female, widowed, caregiver of two, (extended family members). Caregiver burnout, beyond burnout, not hostile. Worse, Im Invisible and have lost my voice. I have no place else to go. Seeking a Christian counselor. I have no insurance. I need support and a safe place to vent.

I am caring for my eldest sons mother in law and her 94 yr old mom as a live in. 24/7, no days off, for 200.00 a week plus a room to sleep. I buy my own food and pay own expenses. I need help.

Grt granny is demented and diabetic and daughter is OCD, Bipolar and on numerous psychotropics. Her new shrink changed her meds and she is jiggy again. Caring for her and her home was not part of my agreement when I moved in.

I'm very sorry to hear what you are going through. I know you are trying to do your best. I found this link and hope it will help. Talk with a social worker and see what resources are available in the community.

lifesgrand, when you think about it, $200.00 per week being on call 24 hours a day, that means you are only getting $1.19 per hour. And that is for caring of two elders.   A professional Agency service would be charging over $5k per week to care for two people.  And those caregivers get to go home after 8 hours and have a good night sleep.

I have always felt that a senior should not be taking care of other seniors. It is too exhausting. For myself, I did just logistical things for my very elderly parents, and that alone I had crashed and burned twice from the stress.

Time to sit down with your son and have a long chat about this situation. Ask him to think about other solutions as this is NOT working. Tell him that 40% of caregivers die leaving behind those they were taking care of. He wouldn't want that to happen to you.

Hope this all works out.

Yes, think it is time for those two to be put into long-term. Me, I couldn't deal with BiPolar. I think u have too much on your plate and it has gone too far. You r a slave at this point.
