One finds a potty bucket that is deep enough to submerge the end product in an enzyme type odor neutralizer. One puts an exhaust fan in the window. One buys Febreze Air Effects. One buys an electronic air cleaner with HEPA filtration. One can also keep a box of baking soda close by if one cannot submerge the end product, so to drench the heck out of it.

My mother has a bedside commode. I found bucket liners on amazon. Just look up commode liners, they cost about $1.00 a day and have a small wafer at the bottom that helps with smell and solidifies the urine. However, my mother is on a diuretic and so I add cat litter, that's right ,kitty litter. Soaks up the urine and there is no ammonia smell.I change it once a day ,she only uses it at night. As for feces, I don't know, she only urinates in it but I do swear by the cat litter for urine. Also with the liner, the bucket doesn't get dirty, It has its own ties so I just tie together the ties, place it in a plastic walmart bag and into the garbage can, no bucket to clean.

A little water on bottom and a drop or two of liquid soap if desired will prevent bowel movements from.sticking. After commode is used if you empty and clean odor problem is a non issue.

I use OdoBan, lavender scent from Home Depot and Lavendar Scented Pine Sol. After emptying and cleaning the pot I put 1 ounce Pie Sol and 2 ounces of the OdoBan and add about a half to three-quarters of a gallon of water to the pot. I have found this to be very effective in keep the room odor free and the feces from sticking to the bottom of the pot. It also dramatically reduces the odor when emptying the pot!!

Thanks for the answers. One suggestion was potty chair liners. Rite Aid sales these though I found themless expensive online. Anyhow whatever the the cost they are sooooo worth it. The liners have an absorbent powder in the bottom that works like clumping cat litter. Highly recommend these!!!!
