I have used pure CBD oil on my mother. It makes her sleep, calms her anxiety down, and I swear it helped her to focus. I just gave her one tiny drop. I still give it to her when she wants it!

I am not telling you this for you to go "oh, okay I'll just give it to my LO! I did a lot of research on CBD oil on Alzheimers & dementia. Most of the research came from other countries. CBD oil can have different results on people do to biochemistry (everybody is a little different) and what stage the person is in and what type of dementia they have!

When I first gave it to my mother, I stayed up all night and kept checking on her. She slept like a baby!

I did talk to others who also gave it to their LO and notice the difference (in a good way), but a few did say that it had the opposite reactions (not in a good way)!

Do your research and if you decide to do it start out with a small dose.

Good Luck! I hope it works out for you!

I tried CBD oil w/o THC for my demented mother for two straight months. Didn't do a thing, nada. Her ALF won't allow CBD oil with THC, even though it's legal here, so I can't try it or I would. With my mother, however, she delights in saying that nothing on earth helps her with her insomnia and chronic pain.

Some swear by CBD oil. I don't know that I would use actual cannibus on a senior with Alzheimers without running it by the doctor first. Have you tried melatonin?

A major panic attack for starters. Don’t get me wrong, I live in a state where weed is legal and I do enjoy edibles myself. But speaking from experience, everyone reacts differently and some people get bad panic attacks. Sometimes
it makes me feel anxious. sometimes I can’t control my thoughts (which makes me start to panic). All I am saying is, marijuana can make you majorly freak out. Some people freak out so bad they have to call 911.

I have done lots of research also and all your above comments addressed are so true. Clinical trials say cannibus not conclusive good or bad. I don’t like the THC aspect. Some say definitely no THC. Going to try CBD oil. Melatonin, sleeping pill, not affective with Alzheimer’s patients. Told not to use TLC. So much also depends on the one with Alzheimers. Some swear on diffuser with lavender. I swear I am trying everything to get my 90 year old father to sleep more than 1-2 hours b4 waking and wandering.

Besides not enough clinical evidence for the efficacy of CBD, there is absolutely no FDA oversight on this supplement. This means that someone can make the oil or edibles or pills in their filthy garage with dirty hands in cook it up in a filthy pot and you'd never know it. No one is checking on a regular basis. There is no accountability. You don't even know if one pill or edible or bottle of oil is the same potency as the next or even in the same bottle. You do not even know if what is in the oil IS CBD or what is the content of each pill. Most of the effect of supplements is thanks to the Placebo Effect (you expect it to work so it "feels" like it works). This is a well-researched phenomenon in science and is calculated into clinical studies. This is true of ANY supplement by ANY company. No oversight means no consistency or dosage or purity. No oversight means no accountability but lots of opportunity to make money off of vulnerable people.

All CBD has some THC. To be CBD the THC content has to be less than .03%.

Before you try either check with her doctor. Many have noticed benefits with CBD, some notice nothing.

THC is the psychoactive component in marijuana and it has much more THC than CBD in the hemp plant.

I tried it once, and found it did nothing for pain relief, nothing for anxiety, and DID give me gas, hee hee. I found out later that diarrhea and gas is common with it. Too funny. It DOES always have that miniscule THC, and that's the reason not allowed to pass luggage inspection. I've never heard of anyone getting even a slight "high" on it; but others may have? I sure would be worried about regular Mary Jane in a Senior unused to it, simply because the side effects at best are unpredictable. Some get a bit high and relaxed, some get a bit high and paranoid. That latter reaction sure would worry me.
