Without having to go into too much detail about the situation, my parents live at home but they both have mobility issues. They have in home care all day, but have been staying alone at night, because most of time they sleep all night and don't wake up or need anything. (We have cameras in their home so my sibling and I can see them anytime, 24 hours a day)

My dad has a tendency to push that button a lot, maybe average of once per week. My question is -- if they push the button too often and the ambulance comes out a lot, are they required to report to anyone that the situation is not safe or whatever for the people living there? I know I have to get 24 hour a day care, and all that, I was just asking the question to see what their responsibility is and what they would do if they are called a bunch of times. Like how many times is too many? Just curious.

In my municipality if you call too often for no good reason, they will send you a bill for excessive services. Which is only fair as they need to maintain full availability for the true emergencies.

I would call the company and discuss it with them.

The medical alert people will not complain, but the local police/fire department will. They can even cite the person pushing the button as a "public nuisance" or they send out APS to investigate a neglect situation.
The Social Worker has the power to seek protective custody by court order.
