My Mother has dementia and can no longer tell me what’s going on while I am not there. While She has wonderful caregivers, I still want to be sure she is getting the care she needs.
I would appreciate advice on specific features to look for or even specific models you have used and would like to recommend. I assume I will view/listen in through my iPhone somehow.

Writingjulie, I remember the time my boss installed cameras so he could watch his wife [who had Alzheimer's] which also meant watching the caregiver. Once the caregiver found out about the cameras she was not comfortable knowing she was being watch [I could like a camera on me, either, at the office].

It was very difficult after the above caregiver left, because she had bonded with the wife, and the wife felt so secure being around her. Any new caregiver, the wife would refuse and kept asking for the original caregiver. My boss found himself doing the caregiving, and even trying to get back the original caregiver saying he would remove the cameras, but she already was working with a new client.

Thus, there are pros and cons to these cameras.

Thank you for this point. I had not decided that I would conceal them. Luckily I don’t think I have to, worth the caregivers I have. My main priority is being able to watch and listen in when I can’t be there.

We have enjoyed using the NEST app. It came with 3 cameras for the public areas of my aunt's home. It also holds images for several hours prior. Husband's aunt is alone at night but stays in her bed and does not wander. A great help for now.

Thank you! Can one install that easily themselves? Can I watch in any time? Are the cameras able to be hidden?

I'm sure pretty much all of the security cameras on the market now are good. I guess it depends how much you want to spend on them. I used the Blink cameras when my husband was bedridden in our living room. I was able to check on him and hear him from anywhere on my phone. They now however make them that you can not only hear what's going on, but can also talk to the person as well. I paid like $200, for 3 cameras and the module. It was money well spent and gave me great peace of mind.
