He wears Depends and sometimes it helps but not all the time. He just stands there and does it like he doesn’t realize what to do. He’s unable to assist in the cleanup. He’s 70 and I’m 77 and not cut out for this level of care. SNF in my state average $13,000+ a month! So I guess one way of looking at this is that I am getting paid a small fortune so best to suck it up and deal. Just need to know if others are experiencing same?

Find Care & Housing
Is your husband a Veteran? If so the VA might be of help. It could be a little help or a LOT depending on where and when he served. And you can get paid to care for him.
the incontinence is by no means the end stage. You will be going through a lot before that happens.
And he probably does not realize what he is doing and he can not assist with any clean up.
You will probably not have to place him in SNF but Memory Care would be an option.

Sorry you are dealing with this. This type of problem is a line in the sand for me. A big no way in hell am I doing that for an adult! With Parkinson's and dementia, he does not know what he is doing and can not control it.

Nursing homes are wicked expensive BUT you are going to burn out real quick regardless of how much money you are saving. I would either get an aide every day for a few hours every day and hope that he has an accident when they're there to handle it. Or really it's time to put him in a facility. MC. This is just tooooo much for you to handle at home.

It is not end stage, but it often is the end of being able to keep a loved one at home, as incontinence is often the straw that will break the camels back.
Yes, any nursing care is expensive, but there are many ways to get help with that, such as help from VA if applicable, long term care insurance, and Medicaid.
You have to now do what's best not only for your husband, but yourself as well, as you certainly don't want to be in the statistics where the caregiver dies before the one being cared for.
Please take care of yourself.

You can have your assets split. Husbands split being used for his care. When spent down, you apply for Medicaid. You become the Community Spouse. You stay in the home and keep a car. You get enough or all of your monthly income to live on.
