Elder parent with dementia has plenty of money so Medicare is a non issue. A contract has been drawn up by my elder parent’s trust attorney. I see that this question was asked several years ago. Any new information regarding current pay would be helpful.

Your Elder Law Attorney best one to guide you for the current limits and stipulations, and even WORDING for your area. You will not be paid hourly rates such as you would pay a caregiver. It would be more like shared living expenses and etc.

Speak with your attorney about this.
We would be guessing for your area of the country and the needs of your elder as well as what is being provided for and to your elder.

Best of luck.

You need to talk to the Labor board to determine what rights a live-in has and what kind of pay they receive. Sometimes its minimum wage since they are getting room and board. In my State thats $15 an hour. Federal is about $8 as are several States.
